Coarse-graining cholesteric systems / Kuhnhold / Univ. Freiburg
Open PhD position on “Coarse-graining cholesteric systems” (theory + simulations).
The project aims at developing a new coarse-graining strategy for cholesteric liquid crystalline (ChLC) systems. We wish to control the final structure and properties of ChLCs via tuning molecular properties and system and processing parameters.
Candidates should have: • a very good Master’s degree in the field of Soft Matter Physics (or closely related) • proven programming skills (preferred: C or C++) • a high motivation to reach the project goals and solve occurring problems
The project is associated with the group “Statistical Physics of Soft Matter and Complex Systems”, headed by Prof. Tanja Schilling, within the Institute of Physics of the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany, and it is financially supported by the DFG.
