I studied barkhan dune fields and I showed that the interactions between the dunes were responsible for the spatial structuration of the fields. I found a phase transition in this strongly out-of-equilibrium system in which there are no conserved quantities. After my PhD I joined the group of Dr. Alain Barrat for a postdoc at the CPT of Marseille. I studied there the face-to-face interactions between people in order to model the propagation of respiratory sicknesses of the flu type.
