Dr Alpha Lee’s group in the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge ( www.alpha-lee.com) aims to design molecules and materials by combining physics with machine learning. Recent research highlights include developing methods inspired by statistical physics and random matrix theory to predict bioactivity of small molecules, predicting the success of catalytic reactions using physical descriptors, and developing predictive models for battery and supercapacitor performance. Our group is interested in translating the physics of soft materials into quantitative models using a data-driven approach.
We are currently inviting application for fully-funded PhD positions for UK students on projects pertaining to molecular and materials design.
