Laura Messio (2007) – Assistant Professor
CNRS BRONZE MEDAL (2019)
I chose the PCS master for the variety of subjects that are taught and for all the possibilities it offered afterwards. After attending the courses in 2006-07, I did a PhD on quantum magnetic systems, then a post-doc in EPFL (Switzerland) on the subject of cold atoms. After a second post-doc at IPHT (CEA Saclay), where I discovered the realm of strongly correlated out-of-equilibrium systems, I was hired as an Assistant Professor in the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) at the LPMTC laboratory. Teaching is a part of the job that I love, and I hope some day I will teach the PCS students.
