What is the difference betewen PCS and iPCS tracks ?
PCS is for students arriving in Paris at M2 level while iPCS refers to the block M1-M2.
When do the courses begin?
The M2 year starts the first days of September with an integration meeting usually followed by the first courses.
What are the language requirements for admission ?
The program is fully taught in English. Sufficient proficiency is required for direct admission at the M2 level (no official certification asked). To be admitted at Politecnico di Torino at the M1 level (international track), students are required to prove an English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.0 (B1 level). Candidates must attach the required language certificate to their online application form before submittal and within the deadline.
What are the deadlines for academic/administrative application to the M1 level?
Academic application should be made as early as February or March as the deadline for the administrative application (Bureau des Relations Internationales) is early in the year: April 5 for Université Paris Cité & Université Paris-Saclay, March 31 for Sorbonne University.
What are the deadlines for academic application to the M2 level?
Deadline slightly change from year to year, opening in March and closing early July.
Does the selection process involve auditions ?
Some PCS students may be contacted for an oral assessment in view of admission at M2 level. Prospective i-PCS students interested in the M1+M2 block should directly contact the professors in charge (emails below).
How many students are enrolled each year ?
About 20 students do follow the complete M1+M2 i-PCS track, while around 45 students are enrolled for the M2 year.
What type of financial support is available ?
For iPCS students following the Spring College in Trieste (M2/second semester), full coverage of living and travel expenses is provided. Additional support for the Paris semester has systematically been offered to some i-PCS students, on a selective basis. Other i-PCS students usually receive an Erasmus fellowship for the Paris semester. No dedicated support is available for PCS student, following the M2 year only.
I am on the waiting list for the M2 admission, can I ask for my ranking ?
No ranking will be provided. Yet, students on the waiting list are contacted on the fly, as soon as a position becomes available.
Are there tuition fees for the M2 year in Paris ?
There are no tuition fees at French public universities but there are modest registration fees because the State covers the majority of the cost of these education programs provided in public establishments. The real cost of studies is the same as elsewhere in the world, approximately € 10,000 per year.
In practice, all accepted students will be enrolled within one of the three partners universities (SU, UPC, UPS).
The corresponding registration fees may change from year to year, but are about the same at SU, UPC and UPS, currently in the vicinity of € 300 / year. For more details
